Co-founded by Paul Tollett and Rick Van Santen, Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is held annually at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California and also in the Inland Empire’s Coachella Valley in the Colorado Desert.

Coachella music festival is organized by Goldenvoice every year and is on the top of the bucket list of every music lover. The live music makes the entire venue come to life and that is what attracts huge crowd for the three consecutive days.
Multiple stages are set across the ground where artists from many different genres such as rock, pop, indie, EDM and others of the type showcase their talents.
HISTORY OF COACHELLA MUSIC FESTIVAL
The origin goes back to November 5, 1993, when Pearl Jam chose to perform at Empire Polo Club in Indio, California and refused to play in LA, the launch episode attracted a crowd of 25,000.
This concert highlighted the venue as a festival venue and made it in demand which lead to the inauguration of Coachella Festival for two consecutive days in 1999.
The headliners were Tool, Beck and Rage against the Machine. The event was organized smoothly with around 70000 attendees.
The year 2000 went blank due to some schedule issues and Coachella made a strong come back in 2001 but was held only for a day, it was in 2002 that this festival returned to the two days format, highlight being Queens of the Stone Age’s performance.
The 2003 edition gave the festival national limelight, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Beastie Boys being headliners.
In 2004, for the first time Coachella attracted festival lovers from all the 50 US States, approximately 1,10,000 people attended the event. OH! Such a huge crowd! The 2005 edition was organized from April 30th to May 1st, Nine Inch Nails, Bauhaus and Coldplay as the headliners.
Every next edition of Coachella sets new records for the number of attendees, which keep on increasing every successive year. The main stages that have been seen in different years are the Coachella stage, Outdoor stage, Mojave, Gobi, Sahara, Yuma, Sonora and Oasis Dome.
The 2017 edition of this festival was attended by over 2,50,000 people and the success of Coachella motivated Goldenvoice to establish two additional music festivals namely Stagecoach Country Music Festival (in 2007) and Desert Trip (in 2016) at the same venue.
COACHELLA VALLEY MUSIC AND ARTS FESTIVAL 2018
The 2018 festival was organized for two consecutive weekends, April 13th to 15th and April 20th to 22nd at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, CA. The event was larger and better in comparison to all the previous year edition and a huge credit for it goes to the amazing artist’s line-up that performed at different stages in the arena.

Three big headliners namely Beyonce, Eminem and The Weeknd set the stage on fire across both weekends and lakhs of music lovers gathered to witness their stunning performances.
Other big names such as SZA, Kygo, St. Vincent,Daniel Caesar, Deorro, Kelela, Black Coffee, Alan Walker, the War on Drugs were feen on Friday of both the weekends;HAIM, Tyler the Creator, David Byrne,KITTENS,AlinaBaraz, First Aid Kit, Benjamin Booker, alt-J, X Japan performed on both the Saturdays; ODESZA, Portugal the Man, Cardi B, San Holo, Vance Joy, Russ, Migos, A Perfect Circle, Jidenna, Jamie Jines, FIDLAR, DeF Loaf, French Montana and others of the kind performed on both the Sundays.
All the seven stages namely Coachella stage, outdoor theatre, Gobi, Sonora, Mojave, Saharaand Yuma were seen in 2018 fest. The general admission tickets were of $429 each and the VIP went with $999, even the hot and dry weather was not able to stop the music lovers from attending this mega festival.

COACHELLA 2019
The most recent edition of the multi-genre music festival was organized for two consecutive weekends April 12 to April 14 and April 19 to April 21. The festival managed to bring most of the big artists across pop, hip hop, rock, EDM and several other genres in the same arena in Empire Polo Club, 81-800 Avenue 51, Indio, United States of America. General admission tickets were of $429 per person and the VIP passes were of $999, no changes were seen in the ticket value in comparison to the year 2018

Any music festival is made or destroyed by the artists that perform at it, it is always the artists who manage to attract a huge crowd to the festival venue, the headliners included Tame Impala, Childish Gambino, The 1975, Janelle Monae, Ariana Grande, Kid Cudi, Khalid, Kanye West and Aphex Twin.
TAME IMPALA

The Australian project headed by Kevin Parker who is famous as a multi-instrumentalist. The debut studio album Innerspeakergave the band a good launch in the music industry.
The genres include Psychedelic rock, Psychedelic pop, and neo-Psychedelic. The live members include Jay Watson, Dominic Simper, Julien Barbagallo, Cam Avery. One of the live band members, Nick Allbrook passed away in 2013.
CHILDISH GAMBINO

Originally named Donald McKinley Glover Jr. is a famous American musician, DJ apart from being an actor, comedian, producer, director, writer, goes by the stage name Childish Gambino and mcDJ.
His works in the music industry include 3 studio albums, 12 music videos, 3 EPs, 10 singles and 7 mixtapes.
THE 1975

The English pop rock band consists of three members, namely Matthew “Matty” Healy (rhythm guitarist), Adam Hann (lead guitarist), Ross MacDonald (bassist) and George Daniel (drummer).
The band has under their name eight wards of different types, which includes 3 BRIT awards, 1 BBC Music Awards, 1 mtvUWoodie award, 2 NME awards and 1 Q awards.
JANELLE MONAE ROBINSON

This American singer started her career in 2003 with the release of demo album titled The Audition. She has worked under labels Wondaland, Epic, Bad Boy and Atlantic. She has won 40 awards in her 16 years career in the music industry.
ARIANA GRANDE- BUTERA

One of the world’s leading contemporary artists, Ariana started her career in 2008, has also made an appearance in several films and TV shows. She has under her name 1 Grammy Award, 1 Brit Award, 2 Billboard Music Awards and 3 American Music Awards.
KID CUDI

Scott Ramon SeguroMescudi is an American rapper, songwriter and singer whose stage name is Kid Cudi. He has worked under the labels Wicked Awesome, Republic, Dream On, GOOD and Fool’s Gold and has under his name three wards which include one Beatport Music Awards, one mtvUWoodie Award and one Urban Music Awards.
KANYE WEST

The American rapper, singer and songwriter known for his fashion designing talents and his super gorgeous spouse Kim Kardashian. We have seen him in few movies including fade to Black, State Property 2, The Love Guru and others and also several TV shows. His change in styles in the hip hop range has been markable.
KHALID

Khalid Donnel Robinson started his career in 2016 as a singer and songwriter under the labels Right Hand, RCA and Columbia and has made appearances in several music festivals. His debut single Location gave his career a kick start.
He has won Woodie Awards, MTV Video Music Awards, iHeartRadio Music Awards, Billboard Music Award, BMI Pop Awards and Teen Choice Awards.
APHEX TWIN

Richard Devid James goes by the stage name of Aphex Twin, known for his work in ambient techno and intelligent dance music. He has mastered his arts with instruments Synthesizer, Piano, Softsynth, Turntables, Drum machine, Sequencer, Sampler and laptop. His name in the headliner’s list attracted a huge amount of crowd to the Coachella music festival 2019.

COACHELLA MUSIC FESTIVAL ENTRY CRITERIA:
- The attendee must possess a wrist band at the time of entry near the box office.
- Any damaged or tampered wrist bands will prohibit the entry to the music arena.
- Attendee must be 18 years of age or more and if not then they should be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
- A valid ID card is required along with the wrist band.
